Thank you for using Novel Reader AI (the "App"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you use our App.

1. Information Collection and Use

We do NOT collect, store, or share any personal information.

Novel Reader AI is designed with a strict "Local First" approach. We do not have servers, databases, or cloud storage that collect your reading habits, account information, or novels. All data remains exclusively on your device.

2. API Keys and Third-Party Services

To provide advanced AI translation features, the App requires you to input your own API Key (e.g., Google Gemini API Key). Regarding this API Key:

• Local Storage: Your API Key is securely saved ONLY in your device's local encrypted storage (AsyncStorage).
• Direct Communication: When you use the translation feature, your device communicates directly with Google's servers. The App acts merely as a bridge.
• No Interception: We do not intercept, monitor, or log the text you translate or the data received from the AI model.

Since the App connects to Google services, your usage is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

3. Local Data (Novels and History)

Any novels you import or read, along with your reading history and settings (such as font size, dark mode), are saved locally in your device's internal SQLite database. Deleting the App or clearing its data will permanently remove this information from your device.

4. Permissions

The App requests standard permissions necessary for its core functionality:

• Internet Access: Required to connect to the translation API and fetch model configurations.
• Local Storage (Optional): Required if you choose to export or import novels from your device's files.

5. Children's Privacy

Our App is a general-purpose reading tool and does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Given that we do not collect any personal data from any user, children's privacy is fully protected.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
